The e-Traction system - flexible and efficient



As with any electric traction system, TheWheel® needs to be supported by an energy system that matches the needs of the vehicle. The e-Traction system™ is a set of flexible modules offering:

  • Energy storage and supply
  • Axles, drive and suspension
  • Range extender and auxiliaries

 

These modules can be applied in all types of vehicles - and all kinds of fuel. Project Hybricon is fitted with a standard diesel APU, while project Hymove incoporates a fuel cell APU.

 

Energy storage and supply

All vehicles engineered by e-Traction make use of Li-Ion batteries as energy buffer. Preferably, our installed battery capacity is over 60 kWh (bus application) The buffer is overseen by BMS and implemented using e-Tractions' buffer management software.

Axles, drive and suspension

TheWheel® SM500 is designed for bus application. e-Traction has standard rear axle designs ready for various types of city bus - ready for integration. Brake solution is also supported. This support decreases the effort of integrating our direct-drive system.

Range extender and auxiliaries

Diesel motor, fuel cell stack or other sources of energy are converted to electrical energy at the voltages needed (typically 24V and 580V) All other necessary auxiliaries are also integrated into this module, making it easily serviceable and very silent.
